Do you tan better with no makeup?

im going to the tanning beds and i was wondering can you tan your face more if you strip your makeup?? or does it matter.. ?Do you tan better with no makeup?
Since most makeup is at least partially opaque, yes, you will tan better without it. The makeup will block some of the rays that tan you, otherwise.Do you tan better with no makeup?
Yes. you should shold not tan with make-up or perfume on. And use hydrating lotion after tanning. The tanning salon you go to knows the reasons why to questions like that. They have to take classes every year to stay updated with the health codes. My salon has signs saying to remove make-up before tanning and they even have a place to re apply to when I'm done.

If you don't use lotions( that rehydrate your skin) though you won't get the best tan possible.
I don't think it matters, unless there is sunscreen in your foundation, then maybe a little...
duh!
yea, you're makeup is just a layer that the rays have to get through, so when they hit your skin they're weaker
Probaly Yes
It would be best to take off all your face makeup eg foundation as then it can tan your skin better without having to get through the layer of foundation.
Well some makeup contains SPF, usualy SPF 15 (Clinique, Neutrogena, etc) so this will provide a little protection but its not likely to interfere with a tan; I've always been skeptical of how useful this addition to makeup really is anyway.

That being said, its probably better to tan without makeup so that the make up does not become greasy/run and clog your pores which can lead to acne and other skin irritations.

Also tan in moderation, skin cancer is real.
you tan better if you strip from your clothes
Don't tan your face at all. You'll see the results around 35. Not good. I know tanning is beautiful until you wish you were still beautiful.
Most make-up has a little sunscreen in it so it may hinder your chances but it will tan a little, not as much as the other parts of your body. Take off the make-up and reapply after tanning.
Absolutely yes. Lots of makeup has oils on it that can interefere, or sunblocks, so yes, strip off the makeup and tan away....although it does create premature wrinkles, so I tend to cover my face and use a self tanner on it--the Hemp line is the best and does not streak.
it depends. I would say that bare skin would tan better due to the fact that there are no products or chemicals present. Also if you wear a foundation that has SPF in it then you may want to remove that before you tan, because it can cause your skin to be unevenly tan if the foundation is not applied evenly.

Also if you tan with any products on your face they may get trapped in you pores(SUCH AS MAKEUP). When you tan your body may sweat. Your pores will open and if you have makeup on and you do not wipe it off before you ';cool down'; it can cause bacteria and other products to be trapped in your pores, then causing blemishes/breakouts
ya u do becasue makeup is covering ur skin.
